Irwin Glusker A’48

Irwin Glusker received a Cooper Union Certificate in Art in 1948. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Art in 1976. He was a author, sculptor, and designer. He retired from Gourmet Magazine where he was Gourmet’s Art Director in the ’80s and early ’90s.

His work in Bronze, titled, The Rowers, can be seen in front of the Boat House in Central Park, New York City. It was installed at the entrance to the Loeb Boathouse restaurant in 1968. Learn More Irwin Glusker also created the perpetual calendar for the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). He authored American Testament: Fifty Great Documents of American History. And he designed multiple Museum Catalogs.

Awards

Irwin Glusker received a Presidential Citation from the Cooper Union in 1965 and received the Augustus Saint Gauden’s Award in 2000 from the Cooper Union Alumni Association. He was inducted into the Cooper Union Hall of Fame in 2009.
